Cigweld Comweld LW1 TIG Wire

Cigweld Comweld LW1 TIG Wire (ER70S-4) is a copper-coated, double deoxidised low carbon steel filler rod ideal for Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG) and oxy-acetylene (fusion) welding. This wire is engineered for high-quality performance across a wide range of mild and medium strength steels, including structural pipe, plate, and casting work requiring strong and ductile welds.

Made to AWS A5.18: ER70S-4 and AS 1167.2: R4 classifications, Comweld LW1 offers excellent mechanical properties including a tensile strength of 500 MPa and 29% elongation, with superior CVN impact toughness averaging 100 J at -20°C.

It features superior tolerance to mill scale and surface rust, making it especially suited to root pass welding where performance and reliability are essential. The rods are end-stamped for easy identification and are manufactured to maintain consistent arc stability and weld pool control.

Recommended Welding Parameters:

• TIG (GTAW): Use DC- polarity, thoriated/ceriated tungsten, welding-grade argon, with bevelled joints for thicker material
• Gas Welding: Use neutral to slightly reducing flame; clean and preheat thicker sections
