Cigweld Comweld LW1-6 TIG Wire

Comweld LW1-6 is a premium copper-coated, low carbon steel filler rod designed for both Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG) and oxy-acetylene (fusion) welding of mild and medium strength steels. Classified to AWS A5.18: ER70S-6 and ISO 636-A: W 42 4 3Si1, this rod is ideal for welding components such as pipes, plates, and castings in the 500 MPa tensile class.

Thanks to its double deoxidised formulation, LW1-6 offers high tolerance to surface rust and mill scale, making it especially effective for root pass applications where strong, ductile welds are required. With mechanical properties of 500 MPa tensile strength and 29% elongation, it ensures consistent, high-quality results.

This filler rod is recommended for TIG welding using a ceriated tungsten electrode (DCEN polarity) and welding-grade argon. For gas welding, a neutral to slightly reducing flame is advised. It comes in a resealable 5kg pack, copper-coated for enhanced arc stability and resistance to atmospheric contamination.
