Cigweld Comweld 309L TIG Wire (ER309L) – Gas & TIG Rod

Comweld 309L is a premium low carbon stainless steel filler rod developed for the Gas and Gas Tungsten Arc (TIG) welding of highly alloyed 309 or 309L stainless steels. It is also ideal for welding dissimilar joints, such as joining 300 series austenitic stainless steels to ferritic steels.

Packaged in resealable 5kg plastic tubes and end-stamped with the AWS classification for easy identification, Comweld 309L offers excellent strength, ductility, and corrosion resistance. With a typical weld metal tensile strength of 590 MPa and proof stress of 440 MPa, it provides robust performance in structural and fabrication applications.

Its austenitic weld deposit contains 15–20% ferrite, ensuring superior metallurgical properties and resistance to thermal cracking. The rod’s surface cleanliness also improves resistance to contamination and porosity, ensuring smooth, consistent welds every time.

This filler rod complies with AS 1167.2 and AWS A5.9: ER309L standards, making it a reliable choice for industrial-grade stainless fabrication work, especially where strong joints and metallurgical compatibility are critical.
