Cigweld Autocraft AL5183 MIG Wire 7kg

The Cigweld Autocraft AL5183 MIG Wire 7kg is a premium quality ER5183 aluminium welding wire designed for the Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) of wrought and cast aluminium alloys containing magnesium. Engineered for high strength, excellent fracture toughness and superior corrosion resistance, AL5183 is widely used in marine, structural and heavy-duty aluminium fabrication.

• ISO AS/NZS 18273: S Al 5183

Autocraft AL5183 is ideally suited to the welding of Alloy 5083, a common marine-grade aluminium.

Higher Strength for Structural & Marine Applications

AL5183 contains elevated magnesium levels (4.3–5.2%), which provide improved strength and toughness compared to standard 4043 wires.

Typical all-weld metal mechanical properties (single-vee butt weld with 5083 aluminium using welding grade Argon) include:

• 0.2% Proof Stress: 152 MPa
• Tensile Strength: 297 MPa
• Elongation: 16%

These properties make AL5183 well suited for:

Note: AL5183 is not suitable for post-weld heat treatment.
