Cigweld Autocraft 309LSi MIG Wire 15kg

The Cigweld Autocraft 309LSi MIG Wire 15kg is a premium ER309LSi low carbon stainless steel welding wire designed for the Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) of 23%Cr / 12%Ni type stainless steels. Engineered with approximately 24% Chromium and 13% Nickel, this wire is ideal for dissimilar metal welding, stainless overlays and buttering applications.

• AWS/ASME-SFA A5.9: ER309LSi
• ISO AS/NZS 14343: B SS309LSi

Autocraft 309LSi is primarily recommended for welding matching 309L stainless steels but is widely used for joining stainless steels to carbon or low alloy steels.

Ideal for Dissimilar Welding & Clad Steel Work

Autocraft 309LSi is suitable for:

• Dissimilar joining of 300 series stainless steels to mild or low alloy steels
• Joining selected 400 series stainless steels to carbon steel
• An intermediate or buttering layer in clad steel fabrication
• Stainless steel overlay on mild steel
• A buttering layer prior to hardfacing

This makes it an essential wire for fabrication shops working with stainless-to-carbon transitions.

Extra Low Carbon & Controlled Ferrite

With a carbon content of approximately 0.02%, improving resistance to hot cracking and enhancing weld reliability.

Mechanical Properties

Typical all-weld metal mechanical properties using Argon + 1–3% O₂ shielding gas include:

• 0.2% Proof Stress: 450 MPa
• Tensile Strength: 610 MPa
• Elongation: 36%
• CVN Impact: 90 J average @ -110°C

These properties make it suitable for low temperature service and high integrity applications.

High Silicon for Smooth Arc Performance

The elevated silicon content (0.75%) enhances:

• Arc stability
• Weld pool fluidity
• Edge wetting
• Clean, smooth bead appearance
