The Cigweld Comweld SBA 115 Handy Pack is a low silver, cadmium-free silver brazing alloy designed specifically for brazing copper and copper alloys. Containing 15% silver, this versatile brazing rod delivers strong, reliable joints at relatively low operating temperatures, making it ideal for plumbing, hot water systems and general copper fabrication.

Classified as BCuP-5, Comweld SBA 115 belongs to the group of silver, copper and phosphorous self-fluxing alloys used for copper-to-copper brazing. Its phosphorous content allows it to self-flux when joining copper to copper, eliminating the need for additional flux in these applications and simplifying the brazing process.

Designed for Copper Brazing Applications

Comweld SBA 115 is well suited for:

• Hot water tanks
• Copper tubing
• Plumbing systems
• HVAC copper pipework
• Copper-to-copper joints

With a melting range of 645–700°C and full fluidity at approximately 705°C, it offers a balanced combination of strength and flow characteristics. Compared to higher phosphorous alloys, SBA 115 provides improved high shear strength while maintaining good workability.

When brazing copper alloys rather than pure copper, a general-purpose silver brazing flux is recommended.

Alloy Composition & Performance

Typical composition includes:

• Silver (Ag): 15%
• Copper (Cu): Approx. 80%
• Phosphorous (P): Approx. 5%

The 15% silver content provides excellent joint strength while remaining cost-effective for routine plumbing and maintenance applications.

Note: Not suitable for ferrous metals.
