The Cigweld Autocraft AL5356 MIG Wire is a premium quality ER5356 aluminium welding wire designed for the Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) of a wide range of wrought and cast aluminium alloys containing magnesium. As the most popular aluminium alloy in the Cigweld range, AL5356 delivers reliable strength, excellent corrosion resistance and smooth arc performance across structural, marine and general fabrication applications.
Classified to AWS/ASME-SFA A5.10: ER5356 and ISO AS/NZS 18273: S Al 5356, this wire is widely used for welding 3XXX, 5XXX and selected 6XXX series aluminium alloys, including marine grades such as 5083 and 5086.
Strength & Corrosion Resistance for Demanding Applications
Autocraft AL5356 produces intermediate weld deposit strength with good ductility and strong corrosion resistance. Typical all weld metal mechanical properties (using Argon shielding gas) include:
- 0.2% Proof Stress: 130 MPa
- Tensile Strength: 269 MPa
- Elongation: 17%
