Cigweld Autocraft 316LSi MIG Wire 5kg

The Cigweld Autocraft 316LSi MIG Wire 5kg is a premium quality ER316LSi low carbon stainless steel welding wire supplied in a convenient 5kg Handi Spool. Designed for the Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) of molybdenum-bearing stainless steels, this wire delivers superior corrosion resistance, excellent arc stability and a smooth, clean weld bead profile.

Autocraft 316LSi is specifically recommended for welding 316, 318 and 316L stainless steels and is also suitable for general welding of 301, 302, 304/304L, 321, 347, 410 and 430 grades.

Extra Low Carbon for Corrosion Resistance

With a carbon content of approximately 0.02%, 

Autocraft 316LSi produces extra low carbon weld deposits that resist carbide precipitation. This significantly reduces the risk of intergranular corrosion when welding low carbon stainless steels.

The weld metal maintains a controlled Ferrite Number of 5–10 FN, providing a balanced structure with strong resistance to hot cracking.

High Silicon for Improved Weldability

The elevated silicon content (0.70%) enhances:

• Arc stability
• Weld pool fluidity
• Edge wetting
• Bead appearance

This results in smooth, well-profiled welds with minimal post-weld finishing — ideal for fabrication where appearance matters.

Mechanical Properties

Typical all-weld metal mechanical properties using Argon + 1–3% O₂ shielding gas include:

• 0.2% Proof Stress: 470 MPa
• Tensile Strength: 640 MPa
• Elongation: 38%
• CVN Impact: 90 J avg @ -60°C

These properties make it suitable for corrosion-resistant and cryogenic service applications.

• Argon + 1–3% O₂
• Argon + 2–5% CO₂
• Argon + CO₂ + Hydrogen mixes
• Argon + CO₂ + Helium mixes
