Cigweld Autocraft 308LSi MIG Wire 15kg

The Cigweld Autocraft 308LSi MIG Wire 15kg is a premium quality, low carbon 20% Cr / 10% Ni stainless steel wire designed for Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) of a wide range of 18%Cr / 8%Ni austenitic stainless steels. Classified as ER308LSi (AWS A5.9) and B SS308LSi (AS/NZS 14343), this wire delivers excellent corrosion resistance, superior arc stability and enhanced weld bead appearance.

Autocraft 308LSi is specifically formulated for welding stainless steel pipes, plates, forgings and castings where resistance to intergranular corrosion is critical.

Extra Low Carbon for Corrosion Resistance

With carbon content below 0.03% (typical 0.02%),

Autocraft 308LSi produces weld deposits that resist carbide precipitation. This significantly reduces the risk of intergranular corrosion when welding low carbon stainless steel grades such as 304L.

The controlled chemistry (approximately 20% Chromium and 10% Nickel) ensures:

• Strong corrosion resistance
• Stable austenitic structure
• Ferrite number range of 5–10 FN

High Silicon for Improved Arc Performance

The elevated silicon content (approx. 0.80%) enhances:

• Arc stability
• Weld pool fluidity
• Improved edge wetting
• Smooth bead profile

This makes Autocraft 308LSi ideal for applications requiring clean aesthetics and minimal post-weld finishing.

Typical all-weld metal mechanical properties (Argon + 1–3% O₂ shielding) include:

• 0.2% Proof Stress: 450 MPa
• Tensile Strength: 620 MPa
• Elongation: 36%
• CVN Impact: 90 J avg @ -60°C

These properties make the wire suitable for corrosion-resistant and cryogenic applications.
