Cigweld WeldSkill 309L (E309L-16) Welding Electrodes

WeldSkill 309L (E309L-16) Welding Electrodes are premium stainless steel stick electrodes designed for welding matching 309 and 309L stainless steel grades, as well as a wide range of dissimilar steel applications. Classified to AWS A5.4 E309L-16 and ISO AS/NZS 4854 ES309L-16, these electrodes deliver reliable mechanical performance with smooth arc characteristics and low spatter levels.

Designed for fillet and butt welding in all positions except vertical-down, WeldSkill 309L offers excellent control and bead appearance across workshop, fabrication and site applications.

Ideal for Stainless & Dissimilar Steel Welding

WeldSkill 309L electrodes are suitable for:

• Welding 309 and 309L stainless steels
• Joining stainless steel to mild or low alloy steels
• Intermediate buffer layers prior to hardfacing
• Stainless steel overlay on carbon steel
• Repair and maintenance fabrication

The low carbon content (≤ 0.03%) helps reduce the risk of intergranular corrosion, making this electrode suitable for corrosion-resistant applications.

Typical weld metal analysis includes approximately 22.8% Cr and 13.2% Ni, delivering strong corrosion resistance and structural integrity.

WeldSkill 309L electrodes are available in:
