Weldall (E312-17) Welding Electrodes

Weldall (E312-17) Welding Electrodes are highly alloyed stainless steel stick electrodes designed for repair, maintenance and difficult-to-weld steel applications. Classified to AWS/ASME A5.4 E312-17 and ISO AS/NZS 4854 B ES312-17, Weldall deposits a strong, ductile duplex austenite-ferrite weld metal with exceptional resistance to cracking.

Often referred to as a “weld anything” electrode, Weldall is ideal for joining dissimilar steels and steels of unknown composition — making it a go-to solution for breakdown repairs and site maintenance work.

Welds All Steels

Weldall is suitable for:

• Joining stainless steel to carbon steel
• Repairing die and tool steels
• Welding high carbon and alloy steels
• Protective corrosion-resistant overlays
• Intermediate or buffer layers prior to hard surfacing
• General repair and maintenance jobs

The high ferrite content (approximately 40%) in the weld deposit provides outstanding resistance to hot cracking, even when diluted with carbon or high alloy steels.

⚠️ Not recommended for welding cast irons.

Easy Arc Starting & Low O.C.V Performance

Weldall has been specifically designed for:

• Easy arc starting
• Excellent stability on low open circuit voltage (O.C.V.) welding machines
• Smooth, stable arc characteristics
• Strong operator appeal

The rutile type flux coating ensures smooth running performance in all positions (except vertical-down), even at lower current settings.

Weldall operates on AC (minimum 45 OCV) or DC+ polarity, making it suitable for a wide range of workshop and portable welders.

Mechanical Performance

Typical all weld metal properties include:

• 0.2% Proof Stress: 630 MPa
• Tensile Strength: 780 MPa
• Elongation: 25%
• Impact Value: 30J @ +20°C

Typical weld metal analysis includes approximately 28.4% Cr and 9.1% Ni, delivering excellent resistance to corrosion and oxidation.

Weldall (E312-17) electrodes are available in:

• 2.5mm (50–85 amps)
• 3.2mm (60–125 amps)
• 4.0mm (80–175 amps)
